THE GUIDE!
Here is my first guide, suppose one must start somewhere... I hope it isnt TOO redundant, but i certainly never found a clear answer to this problem on google...

***

Intro

Hello, I am The Paradoxical Entity, just coming back to Kal. I've never participated in any Kal Forums or even leveled very far. This is because I got Vista 64-bit after my family's computer broke :/

So obviously, i figured out through massive googling and such HOW to run KalOnline in this so-called improvement of Windows Vista, after i tried to give Kal another shot at working on Vista.

In Short: You know that little sentence in parenthesis at the CLient Download page that says "(This version is not compatible with Windows Vista 64bit version)"? It don't mean squat tongue.gif

Step One: Getting the Installer to Run

The first step is getting the downlaoder onto your computer. Getting it by clicking "Full Version" doesn't work. Instead, use partition downloading. Save each of the 9 pieces of the installer in its own folder. Use Winzip (google it if you dont have it) to unzip all 9 pieces in one time and ur installer will indiscreetly appear wherever you wanted it to.

Run the installer AS ADMINISTRATOR (just in case Vista gets finicky) and download KalOnlineEng into your Program Files Folder in your local disk.

Step Two: Making KalOnline Start

Once you reach your second step, you should have Kal Online safely downloaded into your computer. You aren't done yet.

Unless you run it as administrator, Kal will NOT decompress some dumb image file when u start it up and it does its first longload before game (which usually occurs whenever Kal updates).

so RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR; this gives the game special permission from Vista to do whatever it wants in your Program Files Folder.

You will have to repeat this step whenever Kal updates; otherwise you will have trouble getting the update decompressed, and therefore the game will mess up once you begin playing.

Also, it seems as though some images SOMETIMES still don't load when u run Kal like this. That means your character's face will become a black void (which could be seen as kinda cool), except for the Theives, who are somehow immune to this, and objects in the game (such as a bridge or big rock) will be just as they are normally, but black.

Conclusion

So this could be seen as redundant, considering how you guys are already playing and hopefully enjoying Kal, but I hope this becomes a good deed to Over-Enthusiastic and Rebellious newbs who want to play the game with Vista 64-bit.

Hope it helps someone at least wink.gif
