Intro
This is my personal guide and rules I go by when leveling. You don’t have to follow these rule, it’s just something I go by. There’s really only one rule to follow, don’t be greedy. I see so many 20’s and early 30’s trying to kill doggies all the time and then complain about dying a lot and need reviving because they will lose 10k exp if they don’t get revive. >_>
Exp/Time
There’s a little tip to live by, stop trying to go for purple monsters. Sure it’s more exp. Pts. But this guide is for leveling. So, I’ll tell you that your focus is wrong, never look at exp / mob always look at exp/time. You want the max amt. of exp by a certain time. The time I test by is per 30 min. You can set it at an hr or so if you want, but I go by per speed med. I can kill guardian doggie all day if I want and they provide a lot more exp but if I look at how much exp I’m actually getting in term of time, its about 10% / 30 min I could have killed Devil Troop for 20% / 30 min. So stop complaining about killing purple monster for more exp., try to time how much percentage you are actually receiving in a set amt of time. This guide doesn’t limit you in anyway and it works for any class and your own style of killing. It’s more of trial and error at each level. So figure out what gives you the most exp/time. This is based on your own pace of fighting whether you use pots or water or not at all.
Risk Factors
So how do you solo? Its on your own preference of risk factors. First rule is to follow the exp/time rule. Second rule contradicts the first rule, why??? Well, lets say that my preference of choice is orange color monsters and it’s also devil troops. Now at a certain level DT of Desires are orange, also DT of Greed is orange and Greed provide more exp than Desires. I can kill them virtually at the same rate, but Greed seems to hurt me more than Desires can. So naturally I would go for Greed because of the exp/time rule. Well, this is when the risk factors kick in. Although you get more exp/time at Greed than Desires., you also find yourself dying more frequently at Greed. Handling more than two Greeds proves more than difficult, but handling Desires is manageable. So basically you’re not dying at Desires compared to Greed. Although Greed is orange in color and higher in exp than Desires, its only but a small amt. Lets say that Desires was giving you 0.33 and Greed was giving you 0.37 per kill and in 30 min time you got 30% off of Desires and 33% from Greed, but you were likely to die at Greed because they hurt you a bit more than Desires. So you would die at Greed, but not at Desires. So you just lost 20% as if you were to stick to Desires you wouldn’t have died. So overall you risked that 20% lost because of a 3% gain. My recommendation would be that you stick to the lowest orange monster of the type you want to kill. After killing for a while you manage to see and know when each monster will change color at each level you gain. Within the same class of monster, the higher end ones doesn’t gain you much more exp than the lower end orange.
Party
I’ve played other mmorpg and my opinion about kal is that they don’t give any incentive for a party system. Also can someone tell me how are they even dividing the drops??? Other games cycles through the party list so it can be a bit fair, but all I see here is randomness when it comes to drops.
Any way, in a party you want each member to be able to handle their own monster preferably two monsters. Why? Because when they respawn you want someone reliable enough to protect you and vice versa. If you are in a party with someone that can’t handle a monster alone, then that person is just leeching and its up to you to keep them in the party or not. Unless both of you can’t handle the monster alone but when you work together you can take them down, then that would be fair. But this wouldn’t be a leveling party it’s more of hunting for item party. Most people who solo doesn’t like to party because they see less exp per monster. In a right party, you can massively kill monsters at a faster rate assuming everyone does their part. Find the right people and no lechers.
