Auction System is nice and works in many other games fairly and save a lot of time from players. By that i mean we wouldn't need to go running around CoP everytime we need an item and we would know if what we want/need is being sold by someone. Keeping that in mind, the KC items for Auction System are easy to understand. Not saying Kal Managers aren't greedy, but if it was free for everyone to use they would kill one of their main income: shouts.
The main problem we have - i guess - is that they didnt handle or thought well about this issue. Therefore, all ended up in a big mess and 'much' effort was wasted on a system no one use.
What i really dont understand is why there is a tax to give GEONS back to kalonline. Someone?

Kind regards, Lip.
Ever heared of inflation? Money has to come from somewhere, it also has to go somewhere. Money has to roll.
In real life, money is made, brought in circulation in the economy, and when the banknotes are worn and old, they turn on the money machine, and replace them with new banknotes. Same with coins, only they last longer.
Same in kal, but instead of making the geons, monsters drop them. Now what do you think what happens if they don't have a tax system that takes geons out of the game again? People keep killing mobs, and money stacks up in the econmy. To a point that everyone has a lot of it, resulting in everything getting more expensive.
Same shit happens in Zimbabwe appearantly. Do you know what the price of a loaf of bread is right there? This picture might come in handy to visualize:
100 billion Zimbabwe dollars. Ok, this was news from 2008, but it proves a point. They kept making money there, and everything got more expensive. Now I don't mind paying for meds and shit, I'll burn those anyway, but bidding on shit and losing money feels just like throwing my money down the shitter. I'd rather do something with it.
And here we end my economy lesson. Sorry I was bored.

it's not items become more expenssive, what actualy happens is money loses it's value

in other games "auction system" takes taxes too....but there it is no problem, because those games are money is not that important like in kal.
in kal everybody iss greedy as hell, cuz its all about Geons... w/o them, u won't reach anything. so nobody wants to waste some of their "hardly-gained" geons for a system which sells their items - for a prolly lower price than you would sell. which leads us to the next problem... you cannot set an item for long enough into the auction system, only if you buy those kc thing (if i understand it right^^) to extend the time of the auction.
kal also got lack of players... so there are only a few players who needs "THAT" item. they prolly got different times where they log in. so if you set up an item in auction system it could be that only 1-3 ppl who need this item are online and bid for it... the auction will be ended before the other player who needs it log in.
so the auction time need to be extended alot so every player who may need it got the chance to bid on em (so the price will go higher aswell - awesome for the sell person)
in other games, like WoW, it does work alot better... there are always alot player online....so there are always enough ppl who may need your item and bid on it. also the "normal" auction time is about 1-2 days if i remember right

Totally agreed. Getting a nice amount of money in kal (without KC) takes way more time.
@FreeBee:
In any other game money would lose vallue, but, as shadowrunner said, money is too important in kal. In other games - e.g. silkroad - a low lvl item can be sold by 100kk and middle to high level items can be easily sold by 500kk+. Gathering that amount of money is kinda easy in some games, but thats not how kal runs; thus, not our economy.
What i mean is why in the auction system money is taken by the game, since the money goes to the seller only. Adding a tax to the AS or taking it away wouldnt change anything in the game since we have free shops and if anyone wants something sold by X price, he will have it. The money the game get back from meds and other stuffs that users have to rely on is enough already to contain the inflation, imo. The AS itself makes items expensive since anyone can bid whenever he/she feels like doing it. Still, imo, its a good and better way than having pc on for 4 days to sell something.

kal gold is FAR from hard to get just from geon drops you can get a few mil a day
try getting a mil in a game like Aika and your looking at many days of grind(then you have to repair gear so you lose most of it) and there auction house takes 10% sell a 10m item you just lost a weeks work in gold
yet Aika(like every other mmo) Auction house is much more full then Kals
the only issue i see with kals system really is the 6 hour time limit it should be 12 and 24 hours for free and 3 and 7 day tickets but even then idk alot of the issue seems to be people not knowing about the AH existing i have had to tell 30-40 people how to find the Auction Manager in just the time i have spent shouting about it on Hanin

it's like that when dumb game devs copy real auctions but do not understand reason why taxes exist there is auction owner make some money out of whole deal, nothing else ... unless game devs can actualy monetize on in-game AH taxes, having them serves for no useful reason whatsoever! to fight inflation, as some here said? pure BS ... you can't have inflation in a system with stady income of both money and items! it would require either geon hack, or no new items droppped for loooooong time ...

the problem is not losing money, but cmon lol u end up by losing too much money as higher is the price of the item u wanna sell. They could do a reasonable tax.
The auction house is an useful update, the problem is exact what some1 else said above: this game values too much the money cus its only with geons that u can get decent gear etc.
If u farm honor u can get skill books or shitty weapons, so yeah. Auction will never work with such high tax and such need for money kal would need to b a completely new game.
